In this article, we'll discuss shipping a Hazardous Materials (HazMat) package. This article should be used along with the primary EasyPost reference article and the Parcel Contents Editor.
Select the Hazmat status for a parcel
Hazmat status has recently been moved to the parcel instead of the shipment. This configuration matches with how carriers treat parcels containing hazardous materials.
To ship a HazMat parcel, select the appropriate option from the HazMat drop-down menu via the Parcel Contents Editor.
When a hazmat option is selected, AcctVantage will send the information to EasyPost to ensure that the appropriate service level (ground vs. air for example) and rates are applied.
