Client / Vendor Trading Partner Assignment

For each Trading Partner (Walmart, Amazon, etc.), there is a unique mapping in AcctVantage to ensure compatibility with the partner’s requirements.

Trading Partner License script

AcctVantage licenses the SPS connector individually for each trading partner. This license is in the form of a Script that must be installed.

Contact AcctVantage Sales for individual trading partner licenses.

Client Setup

Once you have licensed the specific Trading Partner, you need to associate individual Clients and Vendors in AcctVantage with their respective trading partner.

For Clients, trading partner mapping is done via the Additional Info 2 tab on the Client/Sales Master record.

  • Import ID: This is generally the Import Source Code from System Setup plus an account identifier from SPS.
  • SPS Trading Partner Map: A client may only be mapped to a specific trading partner. Normally, the Client Name and the Trading Partner map are 1:1 relationship. For example, client name WalMart would map to Trading Partner Walmart.
  • SPS Vendor Number: Some, but not all, trading partners require a Vendor Number. This is your account number with that trading partner.
  • SPS Department: Some, but not all, trading partners require a Department that your goods are destined for. For example, Grocery or Hardware.

Vendor Setup

For Vendors, trading partner mapping is done via the Company Info tab of the Vendor record.

  • SPS Trading Partner ID: This will be assigned by SPS to identify the Vendor in their system.
  • SPS Carrier Alpha Code: Used only when this Vendor is a shipper AND you are using the AcctVantage Bill of Lading function. The alpha code is assigned by the National Motor Freight Traffic Association.
  • SPS Trading Partner Map: Each vendor is assigned to a trading partner map to ensure all outbound documents adhere to that partner’s requirements. See above for trading partner licensing.
