Error: Could not find the Deposit Subaccount

If you receive the error "Could not find the Deposit Subaccount" when attempting to post a client deposit receipt, this article will help you find and fix the issue.

1. Verify the Client has a Deposits GL account entered.

  1. Navigate to Sales ➤ Sales Master then find and open the Client record.
  2. Go to the Account Info tab and verify the Deposits GL Account has been entered.
    • If the GL account is blank, enter it, save the client and then you will be able to post the receipt. ✅
    • If the GL account was already entered and you're still receiving the error, go to Step 2. ⏭️

2. Accounts Receivable utility

If the Deposits GL Account has already been entered (above) but you're still receiving the error, go to Administration ➤ Utilities and run the Accounts Receivable utility.

This utility will print a report stating <x> subaccounts were incorrect or duplicates and it will delete them automatically. This is expected behavior when experiencing these types of issues.
