How to apply a Price Break to all customers

AcctVantage ERP now allows for a default price break that can be automatically applied to all customers.

For this tutorial, you'll first need to follow the instructions for setting up price breaks at the product level.

Assign a default price break to a product

Create a new Client Price Break on the Product record. When assigning the Price Break Type, select the <DEFAULT> option.

The price break will apply to ALL customers, regardless of whether the <DEFAULT> price break is also assigned on the customer's Sales Master.

How does this affect which price break is applied?

Using the screenshot above as an example, there is a <DEFAULT> and a Wholesale price break at the product level.

  • If there is a product with the <DEFAULT> price break at the top of the list, then that price break applies to all customers even if they don't have the <DEFAULT> price break in their Sales Master.
  • If there is a product with <DEFAULT> (1st) and "Wholesale" (2nd) but "Wholesale" is at the top of the list on the Sales Master, then "Wholesale" pricing will supercede <DEFAULT> pricing.
  • If there is a product with <DEFAULT> (1st) and "Wholesale" (2nd) AND also the same on the client record, then <DEFAULT> pricing will supercede "Wholesale" pricing.
