Price Break Groups

Client Price Break Groups are designed to allow a quantity-based price break to be applied across multiple products on the same order.

If you're selling several types of widgets (ex: small, medium and large) and you want to offer a price break based on total widgets ordered, this can be accomplished by assigning the same price break group to each widget.

In order to determine whether each Sales Order line item qualifies for the group pricing, the following must be true:

  • Each line item must share a common Unit of Measure and Price Break Group.
  • Each Price Break must share a common Unit of Measure.
  • The total order quantity must meet the qualifications for each Price Break.

Setup

  1. Navigate to Warehouse Management -> Products.
  2. Open a Product record and go to the Price Breaks tab.
  3. Enter the Client Price Break Group (or select an existing group from the list).
  4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 for each product to be assigned to a price break group.

Price Break Groups can also be imported via the Import Wizard.

Basic example

In the screenshots below:

  • Each product has been assigned to the Widgets price break group.
  • Each product has the same Retail price break -- order between 10-100 units for a 10% discount.

If the total order quantity across all of these products is between 10-100 units, there will be a 10% discount applied to each item. Any combination of these items will qualify for the price break as long as the 10 unit minimum is met.

Advanced example

In the screenshots below, each product has been assigned to the Widgets price break group. Even though they are also both assigned a Retail price break, there are different price break levels for each item:

  • WDGT-S: if the order quantity is between 10-100 units, the price will be $10.00.
  • WDGT-L: if the order quantity is between 5-50 units, the price will be $15.00.
  • If the total order quantity is less than 5 units, then neither item will qualify.
  • If the total order quantity is from 5-9 units, then only the second item will qualify.
  • If the total order quantity is from 10-50 units, then both items will qualify.
  • If the total order quantity is greater than 50 units, then only the first item will qualify.
