Auto-Recalc Lead Times

Lead times for your products can be auto-calculated by enabling a setting on the product record. This calculation occurs as part of the Once Daily Update, which the system runs overnight.

This feature is optional. If you don't want the system to auto-calculate lead times, they can be manually entered.

Enable the auto-recalc lead time setting

  1. Navigate to Warehouse Management ➤ Products and open a Product record.
  2. Select the Inventory tab and enable the Auto-Recalc Lead Times setting.
  3. Optional: Enter the MRP Time Period (Months) setting to use in the calculation.
    • If the MRP Time Period is set to 0, the system will use 12 months.
    • The system only considers complete months in these calculations. The current (partial) month will be excluded.
  4. Save the product.

There are two fields that will be recalculated for each warehouse.

  • Lead Time (Days): The number of days it would take to receive a shipment from a Vendor using standard delivery services (e.g. first class, ground, etc.)
  • Rush Lead Time (Days): The number of days it would take to receive a shipment from a Vendor using expedited delivery services (e.g. priority, next day air, etc.)

How are lead times auto-calculated?

For each Purchase Order issued, received and posted, the system compares the PO Date to the Receive Date then calculates the average number of days required to receive all POs. The system processes this calculation for each individual warehouse.

Only POs from complete fiscal periods are included in the calculation. If the time period is set to 6 months and the current month is December, the system will use POs from 6/1 through 11/30.

If the Rush setting is enabled on a PO, those purchases will factor into the Rush Lead Time calculation. Non-Rush POs will factor into the standard Lead Time calculation.
