Inventory Levels for Sales Orders

These tables describes what happens to Inventory Levels at each stage of the Sales Order process.

To replicate these values, make sure you have the Reserved Sales setting checked to be Excluded from Available (this is done in Administration > System Setup > Inventory & Marketing).

  • Qty Reserved Data Entry: During the initial Sales Order Entry process (before the order is saved), all quantities are held in this category. Once the Sales Order is saved, inventory levels will reflect the categories for each Order Status list below.
  • Qty Reserved BO: When a backorder quantity is initially entered on a Committed Sales Order, it stays in that category until the backorder qty is either zeroed out or fulfilled.
  • Quotes never generate any changes to Qty Reserve categories.
