Local Network permission (macOS 15 only)
If you want to use AcctVantage 2025 with macOS 15, there is a new OS setting that needs to be enabled in order to allow AcctVantage to communicate on the local network.
This setting only applies to AcctVantage Server and Client apps that are installed on macOS 15. If you are using Windows OS or a different version of macOS, you can disregard these instructions.
Server
After installing the AcctVantage 2025 Server on macOS 15, when you launch the application for the first time you will see the message below.
Click Allow in order for the AV Server to accept incoming network connections from the AV Client.

Client
After installing the AcctVantage 2025 Client on macOS 15, when you launch the application for the first time you will see the message below.
Click Allow in order for the AV Client connect to the AV Server.

When the above setting is enabled, the server will appear in the Connection to 4D Server dialog. It could take a minute for the OS to recognize the server.
Highlight the server then click OK to connect.

When you see the progress meters below, you're on the right track. Once this process finishes, you can log in!

Potential client-side error message
If you see this runtime error, it means that the client was not allowed to find devices on local network. If this happens, you'll need to manually enable this setting. Keep reading below for instructions.

Manually enable the Local Network setting in AV 2025
If you didn't see the "Allow" message after launching the app (or maybe you accidentally clicked "Don't Allow"), you can still manually enable the setting in macOS 15.
- Click the Apple icon in the menu bar.
- Select System Settings.
- On the left side of the window, scroll down and select Privacy & Security.
- On the right side of the window, scroll down and select Local Network.
- Enable the setting for the AV Client or Server (or both if you're running both apps on the same machine) and then close System Settings.
Now you can connect the AV Client to the AV Server!
