Import / Export a Script

This article includes separate instructions for how to export or import an AV script installer. Click the link below for the instructions you want.

Before you begin, you will need to log in as an Administrator -- this can be either the user named "Administrator" or any other user tagged as an Administrator-type user.

Export a Script

1. Find the script to export

  1. Navigate to Administration -> Scripts.
  2. Click Show All to see the entire list of scripts. If you know what the Script Category is, you can use the Filter By menu to narrow down the results.
  3. Highlight the script you want to export.
  4. Use the Action Menu -> Create Installer(s).
  • The Name here in the Script window is the same name that you see when you run the script. However, some scripts run automatically (hook and/or scheduled scripts) so you might not know the name -- in these cases, please ask AV Support which script needs to be exported.
  • If you need to export multiple scripts at once, you can select them all by holding down the Command key (macOS) or Control key (Windows) and then clicking each form you want to include.

2. Confirmation dialog

Select Yes at the following prompt.

3. Choose the save location

A "save" dialog will open to allow you to select the location to save the file.

  • All script installers will have the file extension AVS.
  • Each script will be automatically named. You do not need to change the filename.
  • If you are exporting multiple scripts, one file will be saved for each script.

  1. Navigate to Administration -> Scripts.
