    Bar Code Scanner: Product Setup

Most bar code functions involve Warehouse Management functions and require scanning a Part Number (SKU).

With a few exceptions, when scanning a bar code for product lookup, AcctVantage will search using:

    1. Part Number
    2. UPC
    3. Alias
    4. Vendor/2nd Vendor Bar Code
    5. Vendor/2nd Vendor Part Number

The scanned number/code can appear in ANY of these fields on the Product record for a valid match to be made.  In other words, your AcctVantage Part Number does not need to match the scanned value so long as an Alias, or the UPC or any of the other criteria have a match.

    Web Enabled Devices

AcctVantage Mobile features are compatible with modern web browsers running on virtually any desktop or handheld device. There are hundreds of variations of web enabled devices available today: phones, tablets, desktop and laptop computers, net books...It would be nearly impossible to test them all.  The list below is by no means a definitive guide; it is simply a list of what we used in our testing environment.

    • Windows 10 with Chrome
    • Mac OS 10.9-10.12 with Safari and Chrome
    • iPad (2-4) with SwipeTrack, Safari and Chrome
    • iPod Touch (iOS9.3) with SwipeTrack, Safari and Chrome
    • iPhone 5s (iOS10.1.1) with SwipeTrack
    • iPhone 6 (iOS 10.1.1) with SwipeTrack and Safari

    AV Mobile User Access

Access to AV Mobile features is controlled via the AcctVantageERP  > User Access Levels screen. Mobile and AV ERP Client permissions are the same...if the user has access to a function via AcctVantage Client, she also has access via a web enabled device.

The same user name and passwords are used for AV Client and Mobile.

    AcctVantage Mobile Licensing

AV Mobile allows access to AcctVantage via a web browser or mobile device (scanner, phone, tablet, etc.).  The license is separate from the AcctVantage ERP license that allows access via the LAN.

Web user licenses are for concurrent users, meaning you are allowed up to your licensed number of connections at any time, but you may name as many web users as you like.  For example, if you have warehouse users that work in shifts, users on different shifts may 'share' a license while maintaining their own user accounts and history.
